Manufactured by Colt in 1868 in the Navy .36 caliber. Blued 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel with 1-line New York address, brass pin front sight, and hammer notch rear. 6 shot percussion cylinder bearing naval engagement scene roll mark. Brass grip straps and smooth walnut 1-piece grips. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains significant amounts of original factory applied thinning to brown/gray patina. Fame and cylinder exhibits similar gray patina. Cylinder scene still sharp and almost entirely visible. Traces of fading case colors retained on loading lever. Grip straps have turned a pleasing mellow patina with some dark spots. Grips are slightly undersized, showing some wear, impressions and finish loss, in addition to a few minor chips. Fairly bright shootable bore. Crisp mechanics. BAS
