Smith and Wesson 1st model Schofield revolver chambered in .45 Smith and Wesson with serial number "1000". Ribbed round barrel with pinned front sight and rear sight notch being the barrel latch. Manufacturer patent stamping on left side of barrel and Schofield's patent stamp on the right. 6 shot fluted cylinder with, knurled hammer, and flat faced single action trigger. "JF" stippled into the left side plate. Smooth walnut stocks. Bottom of grip frame has "US" and "1000" stamped. All matching serial numbers. CONDITION: Fair overall condition with little original bluing remaining. Metal surfaces turning a brown patina and signs of oxidation throughout. Handling marks and scratches throughout. Small amounts of pitting on barrel, frame, and cylinder. Semi bright bore with signs of oxidation. Good mechanics. GFP
