Among the first .41 RF derringers produced, Moore's Derringer would eventually become the Colt 1st Model. This example produced was produced by Moore between 1861 and 1865. Silver plated 2-1/2" barrel decorated with an engraved scroll and arrow on each side, and marked on top with standard "MOORE"S PAT. F.A. CO. BROOKLYN" address. German silver blade front sight and v notch rear sight cut into hammer. Silver plated brass frame with broad scroll engraving, checkered back strap, and spur trigger. CONDITION: Very good. Majority of flaking early reapplied silver finish retained on barrel with some oxidation spots. Frame largely a mellow patina with portions of silver plating retained in protected areas. Barrel address Shootable bore with strong rifling. BAS
