1858 vintage Colt Dragoon percussion revolver, serial number 16822. 7 - 1/2" round barrel in .44 caliber with Colt New York barrel address, German silver blade front sight, and 2 leaf flip up rear sight. 4 screw frame with extended stock mounting screws, recess in butt, and scallop in recoil shield for 3rd model stock. Engraved with New York style scrolls on a punchdot background in about half coverage with bands at muzzle as well as transition from octagon to round and geometrics on barrel flats near rear sight. Cylinder is engraved in a very similar style in an attempt to match the rest of the revolver, but appears to be a replacement, as well as engraved by a different hand. 1 piece plain walnut grips. CONDITION: Good, with engraving sharp and iron assemblies turned an even gray patina. Sight has been reshaped. Brass trigger guard has turned a mellow patina. Grips are strong with no major signs of distress. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is dark with well-defined rifling. TON
