Manufactured in 1861 at the opening of the American Civil War. Standard 7-1/2" .36 caliber octagon barrel with New York address. Pin front sight with rear v-notch cut into hammer. 6-shot percussion cylinder roll marked with naval engagement scene. Brass oval trigger guard and grip straps. Grips are smooth oil finished walnut. CONDITION: Good. Revolver exhibits a pleasing gray patina throughout with some older oxidation spots and usage marks. Cylinder scene partially visible with other markings strong. Brass cleaned but starting to mellow, with inside of trigger guard a red patina with verdigris. Grips have impressions throughout. Bore has some oxidation but retains strong rifling. Good lock up. Matching complete or partial serial numbers observed on frame, barrel assembly, trigger guard, back strap, cylinder, and cylinder arbor. Wedge not numbered. BAS
