1897 vintage Colt Single Action Army Revolver, serial number 170912. 4 - 3/4" round barrel in .45 Colt with blade front sight, frame notch rear, and 2 line barrel address. 2 piece checkered gutta percha grips featuring a Rampant Colt in an oval on either side. Accompanying this revolver is factory letter confirming configuration as well as shipment to Simmons Hardware Company in St. Louis, Missouri July 1, 1897 in a shipment of 50 guns. CONDITION: Good, with virtually all of the original finishes turned a mottled brown patina. Grips are very good with checkering worn flat but show no major cracks or repairs. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is heavily frosted with visible rifling. TON
