A .36 caliber miniature version of Colt's venerable 1860 Army revolver built on the 1849 Pocket frame. The example was made in 1861 during the first year of production. 6 - 1/2" round barrel with New York address, pin front sight, v-notch rear sight cut into hammer, and 5-shot fluted cylinder. Brass grip straps engraved on butt "G. C. Hayden". Standard 1-piece oil finished walnut grips. CONDITION: Fair. Steel components exhibit a dark patina with light pitting throughout. Brass show marks throughout, but especially on butt partially obscuring engraving. Straps taking on red/dark patina at places with balance still somewhat bright. Grips good with scattered impressions and an overall dark appearance. Action loose and requires attention, not reliably cycling when hammer is cocked. Hammer and nipples are show evidence of dry firing. Externally visible serial numbers matching. BAS
