Smith and Wesson number 3 Second model American revolver chambered in .44 Smith and Wesson with serial number "28906". Ribbed round barrel with pinned front sight blade and manufacture patent dates stamped on top of rib. Knurled barrel latch with rear sight notch being part of the latch and knurled hammer. 6 shot fluted cylinder. Smith and Wesson trade mark stamp on right side of frame. Black hard rubber grips with SW monogram on both sides and lanyard loop attached to bottom of grip frame. CONDITION: Good overall condition with some original bluing remaining. Most of metal surfacing turning a brown patina. Handling marks and small scratches throughout. Light signs of oxidation especially around grip. Rubber grips turning a light brown color with chip missing on bottom of the left grip. Good bore and good mechanics. GFP
