German WWII Heer "walking out" style dress tunic for an infantry Hauptmann. Tunic is made from high quality field-gray wool, with scalloped and pleated pockets top pockets, and scalloped pocket flaps on the lower hidden pockets. Tunic exhibits very light damage in a small area on the right rear, a small hole and very light damage on the right French cuff, a half inch repair on the left shoulder, and a one inch patch and light damage near the lower button holes on the left side. Tunic is unmarked with no labels. Two ribbons (EKII and Ostfront) are sewn to the tunic in the second buttonhole, and appear to have been era-applied. One set of loops are above the left pocket, four sets on on the left pocket, and two are present on the right pocket. Tunic is fully lined in a gray ribbed rayon, has a reinforced belt ramp slit and an adjustment strap on each side. Approximately 12 inches of the seam is open on the right side back. White wool piping is present on the French cuffs and left side of tunic. Dark green wool collar has a quarter inch hole on the top edge, white wool piping, and has two machine-sewn bullion infantry officer collar tabs, with some staining to the white center. Three metal collar liner attachments are present. Bullion officer eagle is hand-applied and appears to have been era-applied, with moderate damage to the bullion. Infantry officer shoulder boards are correctly sewn into the shoulder, have two gilt cyphers representing "90" (90th Light Infantry Regiment?) present on each board as well as four metal pips for the rank of Hauptmann. The pips nearest the shoulder board buttons retain almost none of their gilt finish, but the others retain all of their gilt. The pips appear to be original to the boards. There are five buttons on the front, four on the pockets, and two on the shoulder boards, and all other than the shoulder buttons appear to have been era applied. CONDITION: Overall excellent. WEZ
