This is one of the 1836 semi-automatic rifles imported by Browning Arm Company of Arnold, MO between 1959-1963, and is listed by serial number as exempted from the provisions of the National Firearms Act in accordance with ATF O 7540.1. – This rifle will NOT fire full-auto despite appearance of “S A R” on receiver next to selector. G1717 serial number on underside of receiver forward of magazine well with matching “1717” on handgrip. Rifle has a Leopold M8-4X scope mounted to upper which conceals Browning Arms Co markings, and includes a leather sling, original sheet metal upper cover, and 3 magazines. Rear sight base graduated to 600 meters present without sliding rear sight due to presence of scope. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish extremely fine to near excellent original finish with some light handling marks on attractive wood furnishings. Optics are clear. Sling is strong and serviceable. Bore is near excellent, shiny, and bright. Bolt face extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is an outstanding example of a highly desirable and collectible rifle.
