Circa 1885. A sidelock 12 bore game gun with 28" brown Damascus steel barrels. Barrels with 2 - 1/2" chambers, extractors, smooth concave tapered rib with extension, and steel round front bead sight. Rib reads "SNEIDER'S "PATENT" BALTIMORE, M.D.". Chokes are Full and Cylinder. Sidelock with gray patina, light floral scroll, border scroll, and with "SNEIDER" engraved on both lock plates. Action built with double triggers, engraved, and checkered top lever. Safety mechanism is quite interesting as set to the side of the top tang and is serrated. Triggers are protected by an engraved trigger guard which extends to a long bottom strap with the gun's serial number engraved "642". Straight-grained walnut stock with slender pistol grip is accompanied by a hard rubber grip cap, vacant silver shield, and an orange rubber ventilated pad. Checkered splinter forend with black ebony tip and an engraved push button latch release. CONDITION: Good. Barrels retain most of their brown Damascus coloring. Bores are bright with some freckling. Action with traces of color. Barrels are off face. Action and triggers are mechanically sound. Stock with fractures through wrist and handling marks. Forearm with handling marks. CP
