Springfield Model 1898 Krag bolt action rifle. Made 1902. Standard markings on the left side of the receiver. Boxed "JLA/1902" cartouche on the left side of the stock. Circled "P" firing proof on the wrist. Standard pedestal blade front sight and correct Model 1902 rear sight adjustable to 2,000 yards. Metal retains its original blued finish. Stock has its original oil finish as well. Smooth metal butt plate with trapdoor for cleaning kit. No cleaning kit present in the butt stock. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with a browning patina forming in areas. Stock has a few handling marks and scratches. Bore is heavily frosted with very good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
