A long rectangular litho printed English Carr & Co. tin sign, c. 1890, made by Hudson Scott & Sons, Carlisle. It is in a more recent frame. An exceptional piece that, apart from small faults, appears almost as the day it was made. It depicts the process of making Carr's biscuits with pictures of ships bringing in the wheat, the smoking chimneys of the factory, men grinding the wheat, mixing the dough, women ornamenting the biscuits and other images. The images are set against decorations of wheat and poppies in the background, with three examples of Carr's biscuits in the bottom. There is a silver mark on the top-right corner where it appears a price sticker once was, silver spots around the "C" in "Carr" and in the bottom right-hand corner there are a few silver areas. It is otherwise very clean and shiny, with the gold retaining its color.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 11 - 1/4" x 30".
