Lot of 7 Huntley & Palmer biscuit tins. Includes an "Orient", c. 1899, of which 30,000 were produced, a rectangular tin made in the form of a piece of luggage, embossed and printed quite nicely. There are a few silver scratches on the lid. Second is a round biscuit tin with a hinged lid, called "Pastorial", c. 1891, a rare tin with no real damage, nice, shiny and clean. Third is a "Farmhouse", c. 1931, very beautifully printed and detailed, with a handle that forms the fence to the yard of the farmhouse, nice and shiny. The fourth is a rectangular "Trunk" tin, c. 1920, not a common tin, made to look like a traveling trunk. Fifth is "Monkeys", c. 1900, an upright lozenge-shaped tin not often seen with Victorian scenes of monkeys and children, nice, clean and shiny, though with some scuffs overall. Sixth is "Embroidery", c. 1908, with a tin appearing to be an embroidered cushion on both sides, with lid and handle and only a few minor scuffs and scrapes. The last is "Safe", c. 1890, a small tin in the form of a safe, to be used as a money box with a slot in the top and a key to open the door in the front. A pretty rare tin.
