Lot consist of: (A) Japanese Type 99 "Last Ditch" bolt action rifle. Series 25 rifle made at Kokura Arsenal circa 1945. Mum and Type markings are completely ground. No import mark found. Matching serials on the receiver, bolt/bolt components and front band. Blade front sight and simple last ditch peep rear. Original blued finish on the metal components. Two piece wood stock has its original light oil finish. Wooden butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with some wear and brown patina forming. Small hole drilled in front of the rear sight. Wood is very good overall with a few handling marks and scratches. Bore has some light frosting in the grooves, but rifling is strong. Mechanically fine. (B) Japanese Type 99 "Last Ditch" bolt action rifle. Made at Nagoya Arsenal circa 1944-45. Series marking is not legible. Mum has been defaced. No import mark found. Matching serials on the receiver and bolt/bolt components. Blade front sight and simple last ditch peep rear. Original blued finish on the metal components. Front sling swivel is missing. Two piece wood stock has its original light oil finish. Wooden butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish with most areas forming a heavy brown patina. Some areas of cleaned pitting on the barrel and receiver. Wood has handling marks and scratches. Bore has some light frosting in the grooves, but rifling is strong. Mechanically fine. JWA
