1923, GERMANY: This beautiful orchestrion was built by J.D Phillips & Son of Frankfurt Germany in 1923. A Pianella Corona Deluxe No. 10, equipped with Piano, Mandolin, xylophone, Drums, and one rank of organ pipes. Housed in a wonderful mahogany cabinet with beveled mirrors, sconce lighting, carved panels and turned columns, with a glass window to view the xylophone. This instrument has a single roll player, and quite possibly was built during the time Phillips was building orchestrions for Wurlitzer. This is a top of the line Pianola, and strikingly beautiful to both view and to be heard. CONSIDERATIONS: The mahogany cabinet has a beautiful finish with signs of very light wear. The mirrors appear original to the instrument, and the lights could possibly be an add-on. The orchestrion is playing nicely and has a wonderful tonal quality. A great example of a Phillips deluxe orchestrion and a center piece for any collection. Includes 16 music rolls.
