1890, SWISS: A very elaborate Swiss chalet music box with clock. Playing eight tunes and with a figure that appears when the music box is playing. These Swiss Chalet music boxes are well made, and not to be confused with the cheap tourist novelties of the same period. This museum quality piece has a restored eight-tune music box and mechanics, and sounds incredibly good. CONSIDERATIONS: The wooden structure of the chalet is delicate, and there are a few repairs to the railings and doors using the original pieces. The music box plays, however the clock operation is not currently working. A great piece of early mechanical music enclosed in a wonderful work of art. From the collection of Baud Auberson.
