1903, USA: Believed to have been made by Caille Manufacturing Co. Two birds mounted on perches chirp and move heads, beaks, and tails in a lifelike manner when a coin is inserted. The birds are housed in a brass cage with a walnut base that can be hung or placed on a countertop. The two birds have alternating and complementary movements and sound. If this was made by Caille, then it was made for the English market, as it is operated on an English penny. CONSIDERATIONS: Cage wires show some oxidized spots and a few bends to be fixed. The birds need to be cleaned and some feathers replaced. The walnut case shows little wear, and has the original drawer. Includes a wind up key.
Condition: (Very Good).
