1900, FRANCE: This is a dual singing bird automata that is coin operated, sitting on a walnut eight-sided base with decorative cage. The dual birds have alternating chatter and complement each other very well. This is an early birdbox dating to the turn of the century, when mechanical music were a novelty, and these mechanical bird boxes were very popular. This style is one you do not see very often, with the eight-sided base and over sized birds. CONSIDERATIONS: The walnut base is in very good condition showing just minor wear. The bird's cage has a few bent bars, but can easily be put back. The birds need a good cleaning, as they are a bit dingy. Operating well, and with the larger birds, with volume.

Condition: (Very Good).
