It is believed only a few thousand Merwin, Hulbert & Co. medium frame revolvers were manufactured in the 1880s by Hopkins & Allen. This .32 long caliber nickel finished example is outfitted as a 2 barrel set, with both a 5 - 1/2 and a 3 - 1/2" barrel numbered to the gun. Other features include standard 2-line barrel addresses, half moon front sights, integral V-notch rear sights, a 7-shot fluted cylinder, frame marked "32. CAL. 7 SHOT", desirable folding spur hammer, flat butt with lanyard loop, and pearl grips. CONDITION: Fine. The vast majority of the factory applied nickel finish is retained with some older cleaned corrosion spots, notably on the grip straps, in addition to some light flaking, clouding, and other evidence of use. Significant amounts of faded case colors retained on trigger and hammer. Grips have some minor staining around edges from older oxidation of metal components, and a small chip at the top of the right panel. Bores near excellent. Fine mechanics. BAS
