Standard configuration P.38 manufactured by Mauser in 1944. Metal components are salt blued with some minor components in the white. Left side of receiver is marked "P.38" and "byf/44" followed by the serial numbered. Right side bears shows 2 eagles over "WaA135" acceptance proofs on either side of an eagle firing proof. Matching numbers include the frame, receiver, barrel, and the locking block. Magazine bears a Walther eagle over "359" acceptance proof on the spine as well as the serial number "649a" on the floorplate. Complete with a period modified P.08 holster marked "DLU (Ewald Luneschloss)/1944" above an eagle over "WaA641" acceptance proof. Top flap has been replaced and bears 2 Luftwaffe eagle pins. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original salt blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear that show through to silvering as well as a few areas with freckling. Bright bore, exhibiting some light oxidation and retaining well defined rifling throughout. Bakelite grips show few minor handling marks. Holster shows age related cracking and crazing all around.
