According to the Colt archive letter, this gun was shipped on April 20, 1922 in a shipment of 6 guns. They were shipped to "Fitch's Home For the Soldiers" in Darien, Connecticut. Opened and dedicated July 4, 1864 and closed August 28, 1940. It was America's first veteran's home. The gun comes in its original numbered box with the wax paper and paperwork. CONDITION: Gun retains approximately 92% of the original factory applied blue finish. 2 piece checkered hard rubber grips are mint with no chips or cracks. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Nice 2 tone magazine. The box has edge wear. A gun shipped to a really historical place. REW
