After the issues with the Beretta M9 slide cracking and injuring a Navy Seal during a VIP demonstration, a small company named Phrobis redesigned the slide to address these shortcomings, closing the top and reinforcing the locking lug area, while widening the ejection port and deepening the slide serrations for improved control. It is speculated that very few, less than 30 total, were ever made, and they are highly desirable. This example is marked "U.S.N. 9mm M9 - (Phrobis Dolphin)", right side with "ASSY 9346487A - 75081". Right side of dust cover with "U.S.N. 9mm M9 - P. BERETTA - 75081". Right side of trigger guard with "P" in shield. Left side of dust cover with BER086363Z. Beretta 2-piece plastic grips. Advertising from Phrobis when the slide was offered shows the slide being marked as U.S.N. CONDITION: Very good, with some marks from handling and storage throughout but retaining the vast majority of the blued finish. Some silvering on high edges, slide legends enhanced with white paint on left side. Rear sight with added dot of white paint to simulate figure 8 sights. Frame and controls with some wear that has silvered, including some dings. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with strong rifling. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a Phrobis slide. EMW
