P.38 manufactured by Walther in 1945. Left side of slide bears "P.38" followed by the serial number and "ac 45" code. Right side bears a single "(Eagle)/359" waffenamt. Left side of frame bears an "(Eagle)/140" waffenamt following the serial number, as well as an "MI" stamp on the trigger guard web, indicating manufacture by Fabrique Nationale in Herstal, Belgium. Metal components exhibit a late-war dull blue finish, with some smaller parts being phosphated and the trigger being in-the-white. Frame is mounted with grooved 2-piece brown bakelite grips. Pistol is accompanied by "gxy 1945" stamped leather holster, indicating manufacture by Gebr. Klinge, in Dresden and contains a late-war wire cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal finishes, exhibiting some light wear and scattered handling marks overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Grips are very good. Holster shows wear overall, with some signs of age-related wear. Cleaning rod shows a few spots of oxidation. MLW
