Colt Single Action Army revolver. Made 1888. This gun has a 2nd Generation era replacement barrel, with a 1-line company address. Patent dates are on the left side of the frame (look to have been re-stamped at some point). "41 CAL" marked on the butt. Matching serials on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. Cylinder bears no numbers or markings, minus an "R" on the cylinder face. There is a "W.MINGS" stamped on the inside left front strap. Round, steel barrel with blade front sight and U-notch rear. Factory blued finish on the barrel. The grip straps and cylinder were refinished at some point. Case colored frame, hammer and trigger. Later production but original brown hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with even finish wear throughout. Grips are very good with light wear. Bore has some light frosting but retains strong rifling. JWA
