German Luftwaffe Mauser "42" code P.08 Luger semi automatic pistol. There is a "Ku" suffix on the serial number. It is thought that about 5,000 of these Lugers were given this suffix and procured by the Luftwaffe. Although the chamber is dated "41", these were likely assembled circa 1943-44, by a contractor. "42" marked toggle. No import marks found. Matching serials throughout, minus the grips, which are not numbered. Correct "(Eagle) / A" proof on the right side of the chamber and on the barrel. Grips have an "(Eagle) / 655" Waffenamt on the inside of each panel. Standard blade front sight and v-notch rear. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Checkered wood grips. Incudes an incorrect wood bottom, nickel finished magazine (not numbered). Also included is a "dta / 41" marked brown leather hard shell holster, with "P.08" in small script and a large "(Eagle) / WaA195" Waffenamt on the back. Holster retains an original unmarked metal takedown tool. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with spots of finish wear. Grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Bore is clean overall with strong rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine has finish wear with a chip out of the wood bottom. Holster has some fading and crazing on the front. Stitching remains tight.
