Standard configuration Type 14 Nambu semi-automatic pistol manufactured at the Kokubunji Arsenal in September of 1936. The left side of the frame bears stampings stipulating the model designation, with the right bearing the manufacturer symbols followed by the serial number, as well as the date code "11.9". Major metal components are blued, with some smaller components being strawed. All numbers are matching, including the magazine. Firing pin and grips are unnumbered. Pistol is accompanied by an original lanyard as well as a Japanese hard shell leather holster, which bears a manufacturer stamp on the interior of the flap. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting a few small areas of wear and thinning that show through to grey and brown patinas. Grip straps show moderate amounts of surface oxidation from handling but are otherwise fine. Very bright bore, exhibiting some areas of light oxidation and retaining good rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from handling and storage but are otherwise fine. Holster exhibits wear from handling and storage overall but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A very nice example of a pre-war Kokubunji manufactured Type 14 semi-automatic pistol. MLW
