Lot consist of: (A) Smith & Wesson Model 40 Centennial double action revolver. Made circa 1960's. "SMITH & WESSON" marked on the left side of the barrel, with the caliber marked on the right. Trademark found on the left side of the frame, with the company address on the right. 5-shot fluted cylinder. Round, pinned barrel with ramped blade front sight and U-notch rear. Factory nickel finish on the metal components. Case colored serrated trigger. Round butt frame. Smooth oil-finished wood grips with silver medallions. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its original finish with a few handling marks and scratches. Grips have light scratches. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Sharp mechanical function. (B) Pre-war Smith & Wesson .38/32 Terrier double action revolver in .38 S&W. Made late 1930s. "SMITH & WESSON/.38 S.&W. CTG." marked on the left side of the barrel. Trademark and "MADE IN U.S.A." marked on the right side of the frame. Matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, and barrel. Matching assembly numbers on the crane and frame. 5-shot fluted cylinder. Round, pinned barrel with half-moon front sight and U-notch rear. Factory nickel finish on the metal components. Round butt frame. Case colored smooth face trigger and spurred hammer. Original checkered hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its original finish with some tarnish and wear on the right side of the frame. Grips have a few light handling marks. Bore is clean overall with strong rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lock up. Dragline on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
