Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 27 double action revolver. Made 1950. "SMITH & WESSON" marked on the left side of the barrel, with the caliber marked on the right. Trademark and company address are on the right side of the frame. Matching serials on the butt, barrel, and cylinder. Matching assembly numbers on the frame and crane. 6-shot fluted cylinder. Round, steel barrel with full rib and ejector rod housing. Ramped blade front sight and adjustable U-notch rear. Factory nickel finish on the metal components. Case colored serrated trigger and spurred hammer. Later production imitation ivory grips with silver monogram medallions. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its original finish with light handling marks and scratches. Grips are excellent. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lock up. Light drag line on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
