Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector 1st Model Triple Lock double action revolver. Made circa 1910. 2-line company address and patent dates on the top of the barrel. "44 S&W Special CTG" marked on the left side of the barrel, in between 2 Maltese crosses. Company trademark and address on the right side of the frame. Matching serials on the butt, cylinder, and barrel. Matching assembly numbers on the frame and crane. Round, steel barrels with half-moon front sight and U-notch rear. Factory refinished in 1978 ("878" marked on the inside of the butt) with a nickel finish on the metal components. Case colored smooth face trigger and spurred hammer. Checkered wood grips with "S&W" medallions. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its nickel finish with light scratches. Grips have light handling marks and scratches. Bore has some light frosting but retains strong rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lock up. Dragline visible on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
