Standard configuration P.38 manufactured by Mauser in 1943. Left side of slide is stamped "P.38" and "byf/43" followed by the serial number. Right side of slide bears 2 Mauser "(Eagle) / 135" waffenamts on either side of an eagle firing proof. "(Eagle) / 135" waffenamts are also present on the frame and barrel. Metal components are blued and frame is mounted with 2-piece brown pressed resin grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block. Complete with a "dkk/43" marked black leather holster containing a spare magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of thinning and wear overall, as well as a few scattered spots of surface oxidation. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light oxidation throughout and retaining good rifling. Grips show scattered handling marks from use but are otherwise fine. Holster shows some handling marks and age-related wear but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. MLW
