Standard configuration P.38 manufactured by Mauser in 1944. Left side of slide is stamped "P.38" and "byf/44" followed by the serial number. Right side bears 2 Mauser "(Eagle) / WaA135" waffentamts on either side of an Eagle firing proof. Additional "(Eagle) / WaA135" waffenamts are present on the left side of the frame and barrel lug. Metal components exhibit a dull military blue finish, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece brown pressed resin grips. Complete with a "dla/44" marked Hi-Power leather holster, that has been period modified for use with the P.38. Holster flap bears a German Heer hat insignia. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some light wear overall and some cleaned areas of light oxidation. Front grip strap shows thinning to grey and brown patina. Mirror bore with strong rifling throughout. Grips are very good. Holster bears a new section sewn on at the toe but is otherwise fine. MLW
