P.38 manufactured at the Mauser factory under French occupation in 1945. Left side of slide bears "P.38" followed the Mauser's late-war "svw / 45" code as well as the serial number. Right side of slide bears a single 5-pointed star, signifying French manufacture. Metal components are blued and frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved polymid grips. Bottom right side of slide bears a "MADE W. GERMANY" Interarms import stamp. Barrel bears a Mauser "(Eagle) / 135" waffenamt followed by 2 sunburst rework stamps. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block. Pistol is accompanied by an unmarked softshell leather holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to grey patina overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered handling marks but are otherwise fine. Holster is very good. MLW
