This gun is listed by serial number on page 54 of "American Beauty: The Prewar Colt National Match Government Model Pistol" by Mullin as having Blued finish, wood grips, and adjustable sights. Mullin does not mention, but the gun is also equipped with a Swartz safety. Stevens adjustable rear sight, front sight is the taller-than-normal serrated ramp front sight. Left side of the slide with Colt's 2-line single block patent and address information, right side with National Match rollmark. Right side of frame with "GOVERNMENT MODEL / C188620", right side of trigger guard with "99" subinspector proof, left side with "P" and Colt VP proofs. Barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO MATCH" on lower left side of chamber. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety, checkered slide release, checkered magazine release, short checkered trigger, long grip safety, and arched knurled mainspring housing. Fully checkered walnut grips. Baseplate of 2 tone magazine marked "COLT / 45 AUTO". CONDITION: Very good plus, retaining the vast majority of the factory bluing with some bumps and scratches to silver primarily visible on left side with some errant marks throughout, some of which are silvered. There are a few minor spots of oxidation to rear of slide and rear of frame, with a few other minor flecks. Grips are very good with some handling marks; left grip with a split at bottom and a crack 1" from top. Action is sluggish, probably congealed oil, bore is excellent with strong rifling. EMW
