Model 1879 Reichsrevolver manufactured for the Imperial German military. Left side of frame exhibits manufacturing markings "S&S. V.C.S. C.C.H./ SUHL" within a oval. Left side of the barrel bears an Imperial German Reichsadler, with arsenal proofs present on the bottom flat as well as on the bottom of the frame. The left grip panel has a hand-scribed "#++#/ LUHNE" on the exterior. Pommel cap is unit marked 1."G.A 5. 60.". All numbers are matching including the grips, which are marked on the interior of the panels. CONDITION: Metal components exhibit a mottled gray patina, exhibiting some light surface oxidation overall. Cylinder pin exhibits many dings on the bottom of the rod head. Cylinder pin retaining screw spring is no longer present. Bore is bright, exhibiting oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from use, but otherwise appear sturdy and serviceable. MLW
