German DWM Model 1914 Navy Luger semi-automatic pistol. Made "1917", as marked on the chamber. "DWM" in script on the toggle. "1917" is marked on the left side rail, and on the left side of the sight base. "(Crown) / M" proofs on the left side of the chamber and barrel. No import or export marks found. Matching serials throughout. Firing pin and grips are not numbered. Blade front sight and rear V-notch adjustable to 200 meters. Original blued and straw finishes. Checkered grips look to be original, with "H" inspectors stamps on the inside of each panel. Nickel body, wood bottom magazine is Navy issue and numbered, but not matching to the gun. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with light wear on the barrel and frame. The straw finish rates at about 70%. Grips have light wear, with a chip out of the left panel, under the safety lever. Bore has some frosting in the grooves, but the rifling remains strong. Magazine has light wear. Wood base has a repaired crack. Mechanically fine. JWA
