Mauser Commercial banner 42 code P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol. Made 1942, with a "42" dated chamber, although there is some discussion on these being assembled in 1944-45 from final production parts. "MAUSER" in banner format on the toggle. No import marks found. Matching serials throughout, with the firing pin, hold open and right grip not being numbered. The right grip has an "(Eagle) / 655" waffenamt on the inside. No Waffenamts or proofs on the chamber area or barrel. Standard blade front sight and v-notch rear. Factory blue and straw finishes. Checkered wood grips. "fxo" blued steel body magazine with an "(eagle)/37" Waffenamt and matching numbered aluminum bottom. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its blued and straw finishes. Grips are excellent, with crisp checkering. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine is excellent. JWA
