First Issue P.08 manufactured by DWM under contract for the Imperial German military. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram, with the left side of the receiver bearing arsenal proofs. Major metal components are have been finely reblued, with strawed components being reheated. Front grip strap is unit marked "B.2.S.R.4.13." signifying issue to 2nd Bavarian Heavy Cavalry, 4th Company, weapon number 13. All numbers are matching with the exception of the grips, which are mismatched. Locking bolt and wood magazine bottom are force matched. CONDITION: Excellent as restored, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks overall from handling and storage. Strawed components are excellent as reheated. Bore is bright, showing light oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and some scattered impressions but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. MLW
