Model 1920 Commercial Luger manufactured by DWM and later re-barreled to 9mm and converted for police use. "(Crown) / N" commercial nitro proofs are present on the left side of the frame and left side of breechblock. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Front grip strap is stamped "S.D.I.507.", indicating issue to the Dusseldorf Schutzpolitzei, Unit I. Barrel has been replaced, likely at the police armory, and bears a partially discernible Mauser or Simson repair proof below the serial number. Receiver retains its sear safety and frame retains its magazine safety, albeit clipped and disabled. Major metal components are have been reblued, with strawed components being reheated. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, barrel, firing pin, rear toggle link, and receiver axle, with remaining components being unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, showing few indications of minor wear overall. Strawed components are ensuite, as reheated. Bright bore, exhibiting good rifling throughout. Grips show a few minor nicks to the diamonds, with the right panel exhibiting a crack at the base on the interior. MLW
