Model 1906 Luger manufactured by DWM for commercial sales. Left side of receiver, breechblock, and toggle bear horizontal "(Crown) / N" commercial nitro proofs, with the bottom of the barrel bearing a horizontal "(Crown) / N" proof. Frame exhibits a faintly hand-scribed "F" by the safety lever. Major metal components are rust blued, with some smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the grips and magazine which are unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of what appears to be period reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some thinning and minor wear overall. Strawed components show some wear and some spots of age-related discoloration. Grip screws retain a mostly grey patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting light oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips are very good, showing a few nicks to the diamonds and a few impressions, but are otherwise fine. MLW
