Made by the Ladies Sewing Society of the Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem, Pa. This is an early “Polly” probably around 1900, with slightly molded face, painted brown hair, blue almond-shaped eyes, nose and mouth (repainted mouth, face a little darkened, neck reinforced), seamed body with sewn-on arms and legs, stitched fingers and toes, flat buttocks to allow for sitting, white shift may be original.
