Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 single action revolver. Made circa late 1890's. "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A." marked on the barrel rib. Small trademark on the right side of the frame. Matching serials on the butt, cylinder, and barrel (with the latter 2 being re-numbered). The barrel latch is mismatched. Round, steel barrel with full rib. Half-moon front sight with U-notch rear. Metal components have been nicely re-blued. Case colored trigger, hammer, and trigger guard. Original checkered brown hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% or more of its reapplied finish. Grips have light wear. Bore is clean with crisp rifling and no pitting. Tight hammer and cylinder. Dragline visible on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
