Rare Remington rifle cane or cane gun with early 1858 patent marking of J.F. Thomas and E. Remington & Sons Ilion, New York markings on knurled screw-on tip of cane. .32 caliber percussion mechanism with knurled trigger button. Cane is covered in gutta percha with ball-and-claw-shaped handle. CONDITION: Overall very good with metal having an aged silvery patina. Gutta percha has a good aged look with small crack by the button. Dark bore with functioning mechanism. A nice example of a rare item. DLM
