Sharps Model 1859 saddle ring carbine converted to .50-70 after the Civil War. Relined 22" barrel with 3 groove rifling to .50-70 CF. Case hardened action serial numbered "C.452" with 1852 Sharps patent dates and 1859 R.S. Lawrence patent dates with single trigger and slide rail with saddle ring. Walnut wood stocks with iron 2 piece patchbox and single band walnut forearm. Buttstock has "D.F.C." rebuild cartouche on left center of buttstock. CONDITION: 90% fading barrel blue. 60% fading case colors and 50% original varnish with some crazing and visible cartouche. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
