A Massive Third Reich State Service Banner measuring an impressive 288” x 178”. The banner is constructed of four separate pieces, which are double reinforced stitched together along the length of the banner. The two bottom corners of the banner have period repairs measuring 42” x 15”, and 15” x 13”. There are a few scattered period repairs throughout the flag, mostly near the bottom. The large central swastika measures 130” in diameter. The eagle measures 83” x 48”. The black lines, especially seen on the eagle, appear to be hand painted in place, perhaps due to its large size. The reinforced end for attaching the flag to a line, or pole, reinforced with thick canvas. A rope passes through the canvas, which is accessible in five separate sections to distribute the weight of the banner evenly on the rope while it is being hung. No markings are seen on the canvas reinforcement. Several post-War carabiners are attached to the rope. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. DMW
