German Pre-World War II .22 Caliber K98 EL24 conversion kit in its wooden storage box. Receiver is marked "Erma Fabrikat Erma", various "WaA77" (Erma & Geipel) proofs, and the bolt assembly, receiver, and barrel have matching numbers (1846). 2 .22 5-round magazines are included and are of different types. 1 with a side spring is marked "Erma" with a "WaA132", and the second more conventional type is marked "WaA280" and "Erma", "Erfurt", and "1937". The second magazine is missing its spring, but the follower and base plate are present. The conversion floor plate magazine well is marked "WaA280", "Erme", "Erfurt", "1937", and a mismatched serial number (2370). Blued components retain 90+% of their finish. The original wooden box was sent by a US WWII GI (PFC Sidney Steiger) to a "Lt. Steiger " at Ft Meade, MD. While the inside of the box was marked to a different conversion kit in black ink, an era pencil marking has the matching serial number of "1846". Both sets of markings identify the serial number of the K98 the kit was assigned to. A capture paper filled out on "13 May 1945" by "Pfc. Sidney Steiger" listing "1 Conversion Kit For German Rifle" is included in the lot, but is tattered. CONDITION: Overall excellent. WEZ
