A German World War II Luftwaffe Observer’s Qualification badge. The badge is made of early nickel silver with a high quality silver electroplated wreath and eagle. The wreath received a high quality rhodium finish with polished high reliefs. The eagle is the typical GWL style design. The reverse of the badge features textbook, slightly countersunk, GWL style rivets. The block hinge, needle pin, and directly soldered flat-wire “C” catch is also textbook GWL hardware. A GWL maker mark can be seen on the reverse of the eagle. CONDITION: Excellent. DMW
