1933 3' long model of the USS Texas which was produced by the magazine "Popular Science" which could be ordered and assembled by readers. The model is mostly constructed of wood with various metal accessories and wires. The model is nicely detailed for a magazine order model, as the ship features rotating guns and turrets, flags, functioning rudder, search lights, and even life rings. The model is secured to a wood mount and is complete with the original "Sheet No. 2" blueprint which provides instructions on how to assemble the ship. CONDITION: The model remains sturdy but exhibits scattered blemishes to the paint. Several of the metal wires have broken as well as some of the wood beams. The model appears to be relatively complete and would make a nice display. There is a layer of dust on the deck, and the model could be made presentable after a thorough cleaning. The blueprints exhibit several rips and have torn into 2 pieces with a rip down the center. Overall good. JLD
