Turned, solid brass signal/yacht cannon with hardwood carriage, circa 1880s. Tube is 14" long with a breech marked with a federal eagle and "THE STRONG CANNON / CHAS.C.HUTCHINSON / 152 STATE STREET. / BOSTON". This is one of the earliest models by this company who was later bought out by Winchester with later tubes bearing the New Haven markings. 10 gauge, breech loading action with firing pin and pull lanyard. Naval style stepped mahogany carriage on wooden wheels with original brass hardware and screw turn elevator. CONDITION: Beautiful light bronze patina. Firing pin is strong and breech locks up tight. Carriage is in good condition with no cracks. BRM.
