Scarce F O Dewey hallmarked (1875 pat), brass top, bell bottom, No. 39 style, double guard model, made for the Concord RR. Lantern has correct bayonet base with glass fount and twin-tube whale oil burner. Lid has sliding top globe holder. The frame is nicely embossed "CONCORD RR" over the leaf-style latch spring. The frame is smooth, clean, and protected. The brass top is dent-free. The clear globe is a No. 39 extended base type, nicely embossed "C. R. R." and shows little evidence of RR wear. This unit is display-ready.
